The second largest island in the Mediterranean, Sardinia is justly famous for its pristine beaches, but it also has a unique, distinct and ancient culture and language of its own. On this new tour, we will discover the ancient Nuragic civilisation, visiting the enigmatic Nuraghe structures and archaeological sites, as well as exploring historic towns such as Olbia, Bosa, Oristano and Cagliari with well-preserved mediaeval architecture and less-visited towns and villages in the mountainous interior. There will be opportunities to sample the traditional cuisine and wines of the island and we will traverse some of the varied landscapes – from rugged mountain peaks to idyllic coastline.
